Hello! I'm Heather, a leather worker in East Jamaica, Vermont. I make functional accessories like handbags, wallets and jewelry entirely through hand stitching.

Although my leather working  skills are self taught, I have been trained in almost every medium starting from my days at Maryland Institute, College of Art where I studied fiber arts as a weaver. Leatherwork allows me to apply my skills and experience in metalwork, sewing, bookbinding, and clothes making.

It is my preference to work with leather from one of the oldest tanneries in Italy, the Badalassi Carlo Tannery, known for their rich color palette and unique texture achieved through environmentally safe, traditional vegetable tanning and processing. To enhance my pieces, I source unique patterned hides from select suppliers in the US.
